WSC RYA Training Courses

Weymouth Sailing Club is a RYA Recognised Training Centre (RTC) for club members only, for all RYA Shore-based Navigation Courses, RYA First Aid Courses and RYA Practical Dinghy Courses, from Youth to Adult Level 1-4, Seamanship, Spinnaker, Performance and Race Coaching. All courses are offered at a significant discount to commercially available courses, so to avoid undercutting other commercial RYA training providers, we are authorised to teach club members only.

The shore-based navigation theory courses (normally Day Skipper) are run in weekly 2 hour sessions from November to April. The maximum course numbers are 12, but if there is significant demand, 2 course can be run on different days.

The RYA First Aid courses are run on an as required basis for a minimum of 8 students and a maximum or 12. These are normally run on Saturdays or Sundays.

RYA Dinghy Courses are run as required from April to September, normally 2 days over a weekend. The courses are taught in the clubs own Wayfarer, Feva or Pico dinghies.

The club also offers discounted RYA Power Boat level 2 and Safety Boat course, plus RYA VHF courses through our Preferred Training Provider, Weymouth Sailing School. These are run on an as required basis. The VHF course are a one day course normally run at weekends; the Power Boat courses are 2 days and can be run at any time.

All Club cadets, YOBS (Youths on Boats) are illegible for all club run RYA Courses.
