Branches Everywhere

It was good to see so many members around the club last weekend. Many were to be found beavering away in both yards giving them a good tidy up under the gentle leadership of Graham May, Yard secretary.

The bank at the back of the club was shorn of its Covid growth, which included a good display of hops. Note: we must make our own beer one year!

The area around the old air raid shelter was cleared and the roof inspected to find out where the rain is getting in.

The fence and wall in Hookers dock has been stripped of its ivy, whilst the mast store, displaying its new door and frame was treated to a good clear out.

Both yards have been thoroughly swept and with the dinghies now moved into Hookers dock, so that the first lift-out programmed for next weekend can now proceed.

There was a mini open event for visiting Ospreys on the Saturday, whilst on Sunday Amanda served up 35-plus roast dinners plus light bites for the hungry diners and sailors coming off the water (See Steve Fraser's article below).

Things may be far from normal, but it is so good to see so many smiling faces enjoying the new normal, pulling together, working hard and having fun.

Thank you.
